Dr. Jerad Meinke OD

Founder & Pediatric Specialist · Meinke Family Eyecare

Dr. Jerad Meinke graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Biology and Chemistry, then earned his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 2008. He received specialized training in Pediatric Optometry at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City — and it became his calling.

He genuinely loves working with patients of all ages, but especially kids — even babies. He practiced in Buda, TX for seven years before founding Meinke Family Eyecare in Kyle in 2015, later expanding to the current San Marcos location.

Jerad grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. He's a passionate sports fan, and loves being outdoors — hiking, camping, and fishing whenever he gets the chance.

Dr. Lauren H. Meinke OD

Dr. Lauren Meinke graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 2008, then focused her career on primary care optometry — including a stint practicing at the Naval Base in Corpus Christi.

She has been seeing patients in San Marcos since 2009, and is also the owner of Blanco River Eyecare — bringing her own practice to the same community. She sees patients of all ages and is fluent in Spanish.

Lauren grew up in Sweetwater, TX. She loves to cook and entertain, enjoys music and dancing, and stays happily busy keeping up with the kids and their activities.

Marisela joined the Meinke team in 2018 and has been a cornerstone of the front office ever since. She's warm, efficient, and especially wonderful with Spanish-speaking patients.
